Beginning in 2024, UCRS once again began to offer Classes/Clinics to aid attendees in learning more facts items to consider in building a model railroad. The first of these Classes was offered as a no charge event titled: ‘Model R/R Design’ – ‘Concepts and Considerations’ on Jan 27, 2024 and was a huge success according to many of it’s attendees..

A second clinic was offered on May 11, 2024, entitled ‘Model R/R Wiring Techniques’. This NO CHARGE event was held at the Oaklawn Baptist Church (back building) on Rte. 70 E, Crossville, TN 38555, beginning at 9AM until Noon. A wide variety of topics including how to choose the type and size of wire to be used, depending on the scale and size of the project, different methods of wiring design, fastening the wire, soldering techniques, documentation for future reference, etc. and many other related topics.

A third clinic was offered on Sep 21, 2024, entitled ‘Model R/R Track, Part I’. This NO CHARGE event was held at the Oaklawn Baptist Church (back building) on Rte. 70 E, Crossville, TN 38555, beginning at 9AM until Noon. A wide variety of topics including how to choose the type and size of track to be used, depending on the scale and size of the project, different methods, including one hand laying technique was demonstrated (with a second method to be shown in the upcoming ‘Track – Part II’ Clinic in November.

A fourth clinic will be offered on Nov 9, 2024, entitled ‘Model R/R Track, Part II’. This NO CHARGE event will be held at the Oaklawn Baptist Church (back building) on Rte. 70 E, Crossville, TN 38555, beginning at 9AM until Noon. A wide variety of topics including different types of installation techniques, roadbed types available on various sub-roadbed materials, different types of fastening, with several specific adhesives (if that is the chosen method), which are available special helpful tool suggestions, plus a demonstration of yet another method of hand laying track.
